Chess, the Mustang

Chester Eelis Ohai (or Chess, as he likes to go by) is a Mustang who hails from Andar Beach. Like many horses from the various Andar Beach Free Horse Tribes, Chess is a proud spirit whose unafraid of adventure. Only 14 years old at the start of the series, and weighing in at 750 lbs, he proves himself to be a valued member of the Dragon Squad. 

Eelis Ohai (translated from River Tongue) means "Wild Blue" and is the last name given to every member of the Eelis Ohai Free Horse Tribe. Chess's father, Rorah (a name which means "Swift Justice"), and mother, Kaiah (a name which means "Strong Loyalty"), live just south of Stone Bear Woods in the area Northeast of the City of Tempar and Salt Water River. 

Chess has a family he shares with many cousins. Chester, (as is the name given to him by his parents) is a reference to his silky soft, chestnut colored brown coat. Chess has two younger siblings, a pair of twin sisters named Marigold and Freesia.

Jeff, the Giraffe

Jeff Bergin Brahma is a giraffe who hails from Hill Valley Village, just little ways south from Aurora Mountain. Weighing in at roughly 760 lbs and 9 feet tall, Jeff was adopted at birth by his foster parents Joy, (a brahma chicken), and Jerry, (a bearded vulture). He is an only child of 12 years of age at the start of the series. 

Jeff is a softy, who loves making new friends. He proves to be the kind of caring soul that tries to understand others first, before making any judgments. 

His empathetic and protective nature is the reason he is a valuable asset to the Dragon Squad.

Along hanging out with his friends on the Dragon Squad, Jeff enjoys building model ships, hoof painting, making pancakes, and collecting rocks. He also believes in aliens and likes to spend his spare time reading tabloids about them.

Alli, the Alligator

Alli the alligator, or Allico Bay YaiKo, is actually only half alligator on her mother's side. Her father is a Neo-stegosaur, a feathered dinosaur-like reptile that closely resembles a Stegosaurus. Roughly 25 lbs, she's more than scrappy enough for her size.

Alli has three other sisters and one brother whose names are Kayrie, Maxie, Bayrie, and Joel. Alli is the oldest out of all her siblings at only 11 years old at the start of the series. 

Alli may be the youngest member of the Dragon Squad, but don't let her age fool you -she is more than capable of holding her own in a fight. 

Hailing from the southern part of Heart Race River, the alligator families of Heart Race are nomadic, traveling up and down the river throughout the year. Alli's nomadic family lifestyle has well adapted her and her siblings to being strong and resilient in the face of danger and adversity. She loves cardio exercises and bubblegum.

Roy, the Ferret

Roidigan Terry, or "Roy" as he prefers to be called, is a black footed ferret who comes from a small ferret colony called Tunnel Town located in Summer Hill Forest just east of Aurora Mountain and DevonShire. 

His parents, Nance and Pablo, are cat surgeons who work long hours at charity hospitals for local cat towns located throughout Summer Hill Forest.

Roy is the middle child in a massive ferret family with twelve brothers and sisters, and plenty of aunts, uncles, grandparents, and even great grandparents. 

He may be the smallest member of the Dragon Squad, but he makes up for it with plenty of self-confidence and attitude. Roy is more than willing to jump into fray where all the action is and get into the thick of where the problems are in order to solve them.

At 13 years old at the start of the series, he is care free party animal that enjoys loud music, wild rave parties, napping in the sunlight, amusement parks, laser tag, and generally just being the coolest and most chill dude in the room at any given time.

Marie, the Elderly Dog

Marie Cordilan, is the oldest member of the Dragon Squad at 54 years old at the start of the series, weighing in at 250 lbs and roughly 5 & a half feet in length. Marie is a mother of three, and grandmother of six. She has five grand-puppies and one grand-kitten.

Marie is someone who is more than capable of being both gentle as well as fierce when she needs to be. She doesn't let her age define what she can and cannot do, and remains active for both her health and her community.

Don't come between her and a kid in need, because even though she's an elderly dog -she can be a real raging mama bear when it comes to protecting children as well as those she she sees as being a part of her extended family.

Marie hails from her hometown of DevonShire, just east of Aurora Mountain. She loves keeping flower journals, watching sunsets and sunrises, stargazing, long moonlit walks, all kinds of pasta, oil painting, and of course, being a grandmother.

Karthrix, the Lion Cub

Karthrix Altri, a lion cub of the Altri Lion Tribe of the Northern River Valley weighing in at roughly 350lbs and six feet in length. He is the little brother of former Altri Tribe member, Kaiba. Only 13 years old at the start of the series, he is lion of grit and determination.

Using his cunning, intimidation, and playing mind games with his opponents rather than jumping into a physical fight unless he has no other options, Karthrix will do anything to achieve his goals.

Chosen to be the future leader of Tribe Altri, he has a lot of pressure on him to succeed no matter what -even if he doesn't always agree with the council's decisions on how best to achieve those ends. Karthrix has three best friends he relies on for help, their names are Noah, Tahtu, and Mowel. Together, Karthrix leads them to victory whenever possible. Karthrix, along with hanging out with his friends, as actually quite the accomplished baker.
